Ilya Movchan
Ilya Movchan was born in Russia, and studied at the State Music School in Petrozavodsk, and at the Moscow State Conservatory. He is currently studying for a Postgraduate Diploma at the Royal College of Music with distinguished Professor Itzhak Rashkovsky. Ilya has participated in many international masterclasses in Holland, Germany, Norway and his native Russia.
Ilya has won many prizes, including Second and Special Prize at the National Violin Competition for young performers in Archangelsk, Russia, prizes at the International Festival Bach: Music of the Universe, and at the International Festival Music, Youth, Hope, First Prize and Special Prize at the National Violin Competition for young performers in Petrozavodsk, Russia, and First Prize and Special Prize at the International Violin Competition of Gavrilin for young performers in Volgoda, also in Russia. His other awards include First and Special Prize at the International Violin Competition for young performers in Bulgaria, and First Prize at the International Chamber Music competition of Judina in St Petersburg.
Ilya joined the Erato Piano Trio in February 2007.
